14:48 that paint is self leveling so... you don't have to worry about brush marks at all.
I know I'm late to the party, but that looks great! Making me want to pick up one myself.
Thanks, loved working on this one!
Looks so cool 🔥
No mark setter or softener?
Yep, both
Thanks for this video! Question though: What is the point in assembling it only to disassemble? Why not do the gluing, prep and paint, before assembling?
Looks amazing. Great job.
Hey, can I ask you apply and thin the gloss varnish. I cant seem te get it right. It stays "sticky" and my panel lines dont run smootly. Thanks alot!
Try thinned enamel perhaps, experiment with ratios until it's right for you
I don't even follow gunpla anymore but throughout the years, your work has been absolutely incredible. Hope you're doing well, man.
Thank you very much that means a lot :)
Love your videos and your work mate. Great stuff.
Thanks muchly!
Bruuh that shirt is 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Both of those are nice kits. I'm current working on the Guncannon and I was also thinking of adding some missile pods to it.
Great color scheme, looks great. Greetings Simon
Many thanks!
Love the design. Awesome paint job.
Thanks Muchly :)
Great job old chap 🤓👍 Always a treat seeing content again 🤘😁✌️
Thanks muchly dear boy :)
When you mix up all the parts for painting how do you know the order they need to go back together in?? I'd be super confused lol. Great video btw
It's pretty easy to remember on a simple kit and you can always reference the manual if need be. Working by assembly also helps (torso, legs, so on) Thanks!
Great video! I'm about to take on my first Gundam model.
Good luck!
One of my favorite mechs, finally getting it in person.
Its the head under the carapace robotic or humanoid looking?
Humanoid but with some kind of helmet as far as I can make out
Really Nice mechanical design in this mecha. Greetings Simon
Indeed and greetings to you too old chap :)
Can't decide whether to get this or not. Looks really good straight outta the box though.
It does, it's certainly a unique looking kit for sure
Hey old chap, nice seeing content from you mate, cheers 🍻
Thank you old chap hope you're good 😊
Wow fantastic work have you thought about making more kit bashing
Thank you:) I really enjoyed this one I'll definitely be doing more in future
Beautiful kit
Totally, so chonky :)
Very, clean, smooth, neat airbrush paint. 👍
Thanks :)
Greetings Simon....
greetings old chap 😁
I had hobby fatigue after building and painting the 1/60 grade exia. Took me 6 months before I even looked at my back log again. Great work!
Yeah some projects just drain you out. Thanks!
Thanks for the fantastic video, just a question, when applying top coat how do you make sure that the articulations don't get stiff with it? I used spray cans but when it dries and I move the articulation it kind of dries along the part and just like breaks and looks ugly
You could top coat each part leaving out the joints or topcoat masking off joints with masking tape. I don't really get this problem often as I use a strong lacquer paint which doesn't scratch easily
I’m new to painting Gunpla. Could you advise if it’s necessary to sand each piece before applying primer?
I don't think you need to really, I don't anyway
@@Gundamuk appreciate the response, great videos!
Do gundam pieces tend to have areas where you won’t want to paint under the alligator clips? And does the movement of the model in posing scrape off the paint or are the tolerances such that it’s not an issue?
You'll need to attach clips to areas that will not be seen and if you use a strong paint like lacquer, scraping is no issue
really nice!!! this is incredibly helpful
Glad to have helped ;)
4:06 - That is not the Zaku 2 v2.0! 4:15 - Also not the v2.0 4:36 - That one isn't even a MG
Lol oops. Oh well.
Hajime Katoki is one of the most metal mecha designers in the biz, I mean the Ex-S Gundam for one more than qualifies for a Judas Priest album cover and not to mention his work on Xardion designing the Salamander Super Attack Armor (Triton for those who don't know). I'd say he's very much up there with the likes of Kawamori, Okawara, Izubuchi, and of course freaking Obari as one of the GOATs of the mecha design scene.
Haynes Zaku II Repair manual shirt made me laugh.
Greetings Simon
👍🙏❤
👍❤️
Big up to you nic link up today
Nice video, I'm starting soon. Wich airbrush you got?
Which airbrush you got?
I use 2, a badger patriot and a renegade velocity
Hey man, half way into the video and it’s very informative, but at 9:50 you see a shot of all the parts disassembled, as some one who never build one (yet) but looking into customizing, how do you know which part is what? In the sprue(??) you see what number it is, but all in one big hump of plastic i already seeing problems with recognizing part to put back, like what are leg parts and what are arm parts???
Once you've done a few I guess you just remember, you can always refer back to the manual too and work backwards
Wow. That Nemo looks amazing.
Love the color scheme.
Greetings Simon
Excellent Simon
Thanks muchly :)
mine did not come with a frame what do i do
Great, I appreciate your patience. My channel is also about Gundam. Keep up the passion
Im sitting here with a rg sazabi but after watching this I think I should pull out a hg zaku instead for my first paint.
